MOAA HAS more than 360,000 members from every branch of uniformed service
MOAA is the nation's largest and most influential association of uniformed service officers and their surviving spouses. We are an independent, nonprofit, politically nonpartisan organization.
With more than 360,000 members from every branch of uniformed service - including active duty, National Guard, Reserve, retired, former officers, and surviving spouses - we are a powerful force speaking for a strong national defense by representing the people who make a strong national defense possible. MOAA is an association of officers and surviving spouses carrying out our role and responsibility to represent and support all ranks across all services at every stage of their careers. We are the leading voice on compensation and all benefit matters for all members of the uniformed services community.
MOAA supports two charities, one that provides scholarships to children of uniformed servicemembers and one that prevents and protects all currently and previously serving veterans and their families from crisis.
We want to say a special THANK YOU. We want to convey to all of you our appreciation for your support and participation. We had 16 Teams with 64 Golfers, and all expressed they had a lot of fun. Several organized team, and a few hearty members played in the tournament. If you were a Golfer or had a Team, thank all of your team for us.
This was a Tournament to Benefit several Charities. Thanks to every one of you, and our Golfers and Sponsors we were able to make official presentations at the end of the tournament to the following:
Plummer Home (for homeless Veterans) $1,500
Gallant Few (for families of service members deployed) $1,500
Warrior Outreach (for Horses to help treat Servicemembers with PTSD and Family members dealing with trauma) $1,500
We have also partnered this year with Daughters of the US Army (501.c.3), a great organization, so with both organizations working together we have been able to award 9 High School Seniors, all fully deserving, each with a $1,000 scholarship. Following the Golf Tournament we presented four of these scholarships.
We will present the other five scholarships at the July meeting.
